The Transformation Life Center is Holding its 10th Anniversary Steps to Success 5K Race as a Virtual Race

Nashville, Tennessee July 1, 2020  --  In keeping with the current concerns for the CoVid 19 Novel virus, the Transformation Life Center Board has agreed that it would be unwise to convene the wonderful supporters who have joined us over the past 10 years.  According to Demetrius Short, CEO of TRANSFORMATION LIFE CENTER, “Today’s current environment requires us to double our efforts to serve the college students and youth who join us in our programs.  To do this we intend to make this race a special commemoration of the unprecedented events occurring now and we expect the remainder of 2020.  Our hope is to keep everyone safe while still giving our supporters the opportunity to illustrate their continued commitment to our students.”

TRANSFORMATION LIFE CENTER’s Steps to Success 5K Race provides scholarships, professional development, and support to African American Student Leaders in the Middle Tennessee Area.  To date we have provided over $50,000 in scholarships and student supported programs, and have seen the recipients advance to successful careers while supporting the efforts in the communities where they live.  Transformation Life Center mission is accomplished through the Pathway to Success Initiative (P2SI) and Black Men Run, Brown Boys Read which serves as the primary programming efforts of the organization.

What makes this race different?   When students cross the 5K finish line, they have the opportunity to opt-in to the Pathway to Success Initiative (P2SI) for leadership development which focuses on Faith, Education, Leadership, and Health & Wellness. These programs assist in cultivating and maturing our students to be exceptional.  Our mantra "More Than A Race, A Pathway to Success."

TRANSFORMATION LIFE CENTER is totally committed to helping as many of these fine college leaders as possible.

President Short says, “Never before has the need for African American Leadership been more apparent to me and TRANSFORMATION LIFE CENTER.  We intend to do even more to help the young people but we have to have the resources and community support to do it.  If you have helped us in the past or been one of our runners or walkers, if you have been a sponsor before, we really need your continued support.  For those who are just becoming aware of our organization, it is vital that we gain your support and prayers.  Please donate what you can to help us become an even more powerful force in the African American Community here in Nashville.”
